Cobb Announces 2025 Cobb Research Initiative Grant Recipients.
Siloam Springs, AR. - Cobb is excited to announce the 2025 grant recipients for the Cobb Research Initiative (CRI). This year, seven projects were funded.
The Cobb Research Initiative (CRI) aims to advance poultry genetics by fostering collaborations across diverse scientific disciplines. These partnerships have helped Cobb control and prevent poultry diseases, improve animal health and welfare outcomes, reduce production costs, and enhance product quality.
“This year, we received the largest number of research proposals since the inception of the CRI,” said Dr. William Herring, Vice President of Research and Development at Cobb. “By investing in these promising projects, we aim to accelerate scientific discovery, enhance genetic progress, and contribute to more efficient breeding practices. We look forward to the impact these collaborations will have on the future of our industry and the broader agricultural community."
With a focus to progress and improve production and resiliency of Cobb breeding stock, the CRI’s goal is to benefit the global poultry supply chain, and ultimately, consumers. Partnerships with researchers from a variety of fields are vital to gain new insights and be able to discover and develop tools that can be used for genetic development.
Shelby Watkins, President of Cobb, stated “At Cobb, our commitment to genetic advancement is fueled by strategic partnerships with leading researchers in technology, engineering, and data science. By integrating cutting-edge innovation with deep scientific expertise, we’re accelerating genetic progress and tackling the most pressing challenges facing the global poultry industry.”
