Cultivating Future Talent Through Summer Internships

At Cobb, we are committed to developing future industry leaders by providing students with opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. This summer, interns joined our teams across Research and Development (R&D), Sales and Tech Services, and several other departments, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to meaningful projects that support our business and customers.

Hands-On Learning Across Disciplines

Our R&D interns worked alongside experienced researchers and technical teams, supporting projects focused on genetics, animal health, data analysis, and innovation. Through direct involvement in ongoing research activities, they gained valuable insight into the science and technology that drive continuous improvement across our breeding programs.

In Sales and Tech Services, interns contributed to a variety of initiatives, including content development, digital learning resources, and communication projects that support customers and internal stakeholders. Their work provided exposure to the many ways technical information is transformed into practical resources that help customers succeed.

Our internship program extended beyond R&D and Sales-Tech, with students also contributing to Marketing, Information Technology, and Pedigree Farms. Through hands-on projects and mentorship from experienced team members, these interns gained exposure to diverse career paths within the poultry industry while making meaningful contributions to their respective teams.

Linking Theory and Practice

For many students, internships provide the first opportunity to see how concepts learned in the classroom are applied in a professional setting. Throughout the summer, our interns collaborated with teams across the organization, developed new skills, and gained a deeper understanding of the poultry industry. From research and data analysis to content creation and project support, each experience helped bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application.

Mentorship and Professional Growth

A key component of the internship program is mentorship. Interns worked closely with Cobb team members who provided guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional development. Through these experiences, students strengthened both their technical knowledge and workplace skills while building valuable connections within the industry.

Looking Ahead

Investing in internships is an investment in the future of our industry. By providing students with meaningful experiences and exposure to diverse career paths, Cobb helps cultivate the next generation of professionals who will contribute to the advancement of poultry genetics, research, and agriculture. We thank our interns for their contributions this summer and wish them continued success in their academic and professional journeys.
